Stewardship

As a caring Father, God has showered you with countless blessings: from the life you have, to your family and friends; from your talents to your work.

Be grateful! These are a sign of God’s unfailing love for you.

St. Thomas the Apostle is a stewardship parish: This means that with gratitude we receive God’s gifts of time, talent, and treasure and joyfully share them with others to fulfill our mission as disciples of Jesus Christ.

In fact – as we are reminded throughout the bible – God expects us to share these blessings because as His children Jesus commands us to love everyone as He loves us!

To accomplish our mission, we not only need your time and talent but also your financial support. Today’s requirements for running a Catholic parish and school present challenging financial conditions. St. Thomas depends on your donations to each Sunday’s “Offertory 1st Collection” to operate and create the best environment for everyone.

In your discernment about the amount to contribute, please prayerfully ask the Lord to open the eyes of your heart to see how giving with gratitude will positively impact the lives of so many in our church, school, community, and beyond – just like the generosity of those St. Thomas parishioners who came before us has done.

Also consider making your donations a recurring gift for the times when you cannot partake in our Sunday Mass.

Finally, if Jesus is calling you to “put out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch,” please prayerfully consider tithing your income and sharing a portion with St. Thomas. Trust in God’s providence because He is never outdone in generosity (Malachi 3: 9-10).

We encourage every St. Thomas Parishioner to complete our STA Stewardship Commitment Form which will help us plan our budget and allocate resources to the programs we can fund.

“Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust consume and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust consumes and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” – Matthew 6: 19-21

Thank you for making your “sacrificial” donations to your St. Thomas family.  May our loving God continue blessing you and yours!
