Sacraments

The sacraments, instituted by Christ and entrusted to the Church, are efficacious signs of grace perceptible to the senses. Through them divine life is bestowed upon us. There are seven sacraments: Baptism, Confirmation, Holy Eucharist, Penance, Anointing of the Sick, Holy Orders, and Matrimony. (Compendium of the Catechism of the Catholic Church, 224)

In the sacraments, we meet Christ and he gives us Sanctifying Grace. Sanctifying grace is a free gift of God which allows us to become children of God, to share in the divine nature, and to inherit eternal life which allows us to become children of God, to share in the divine nature, and to inherit eternal life.
